About us

You can download our useful leaflet here

Blackburn Cat Rescue has been taking in abandoned, neglected and injured cats for more than 20 years. We rely entirely on donations and a dedicated team of cat loving volunteers.

We have cats of all ages, and we always aim to match cats to potential owners' preferences and lifestyles. Many people are drawn to kittens, but the amount of attention these furry bundles need should not be underestimated! If you work full time, why not consider one of our older, more relaxed adults, or a very special disabled/elderly cat?

All potential owners are homechecked, and if coming directly from us (not Home to Home), your new family member will arrive fully vaccinated and neutered. Microchipping can also be arranged for a small extra charge. We request £30 as a minimum donation, and are always here for any advice on settling your new friend into his/her new home. Please ring for a chat about any of the cats featured on the site!

Unfortunately at present we are unable to take cats and kittens into our care.

If you can help with a donation, you can donate via PayPal using bbcatrescue@gmail.com, where every penny will go towards looking after the cats in our care. We are also grateful for any donations of items we use; food, litter, scratch posts, cat activity trees etc. If anyone thinks they could help with fostering, please get in touch. Thank you.

Cats of the Month: Luna & Bexley

Luna Bexley

Luna is a beautiful young girl needing a home together with her daughter Bexley, who is 7 months old. They would like a safe area to play outside and are fine with children and other cats.

If this is not the type of cat you are looking for, there are a mixture of personalities, types, and ages amongst the cats here, who are also looking for their forever homes. Please contact us for more details.

Missing Cat: Sooty

Sooty has gone missing from Sunday eve (29/04) from a house on the Galligreaves Estate in Blackburn. Sooty is a long haired, black cat of about 3 years old. It isn't usual for her to go out, and she is timid so she will likely be scared. If anyone thinks they have seen her please let us know. Please share particularly if have friends in this area. Thank you.
